Christopher Klocker & John Spink know the CT River. It’s their back yard, their home base, their dominate water. They took that home knowledge and put a whoppin’ on the full field of 17 teams on June 1st out of the Oxbow ramp in Easthampton, MA. With a scaled weight of 16.63 lbs of green fish, Chris & John took the W by more than 3 pounds, which was significant on this tourney day due to the very clustered weights from 3rd through 10th being all within 2 lbs of the money.
Another important piece of their bag was their gamechanger of a “pumpkinseed eater” largie, weighing in at 4.95 lbs, putting another $400 in their pocket for big bass, edging out Nick Karos & Collin Karo’s 4.69 lb largemouth.
When asked about his day, Chris said the damage was done in the back water Oxbow section all day with small fish culls until that sun started setting those bigger fish up under docks and bluegill beds. Congrats to Chris & John on their win!
Sean Lloyd & Bill Tyburski are always at the top of the aluminum boat scoreboards, and no surprise here to see them taking home some much deserved dollahhhs with a 2nd place finish weight of 13.39 lbs of greenies. Sean, dressed in jeans and a long sleeve on a 90 degree day, rippin’ butts with a smile on his face from the moment he arrived at the Oxbow ramp, you knew he had some major confidence coming into the day.
Much like Klocker & Spink, most of their day was spent looking for those green fish as the dock talk was all about the big smallies not cooperating. For their 2nd place finish, they took home a nice $600 pay day! Congrats!
Third place honors went to our call boat, who’s name I couldn’t even roll of the tip of my tongue, but they proved to be a top team amongst some pretty heavy contenders on the river, including some pretty sick jet boats! Team Plotnikiewicz came in with the highest 12 lb bag of 12.32 lb, with a 3.81 kicker to send them home with a nice $425 pay day! Nicely done, especially considering they had to watch every team blast off to their starting spots. Not an easy task being the last boat out, but they proved that anythhiinnggg is posssiibblee!!!! Congrats gents!
Nick & Collin Karos made the drive from NH, where they regularly fish our NH trail, and boy did that drive pay off! With a NICE big fish weighing 4.69 lb, and our 2nd biggest fish of the day, Nick & Collin took 4th and won a nice $100 gift card from one of our title sponsors, POWER-POLE!
That wasn’t the end of their day either…. Imagine you come in with a nice fish and a nice bag, but then lose big fish of the T (by a mere 0.2 lbs), but then fall to 4th by 0.12 lbs. Thats a big ol’ smack to the nutbags, BUTTTTTT, not all was lost!!! Good things come to good people and after a random draw, Nick & Collin would be the winners of our STRIKER BRANDS Adrenaline Rain Bib giveaway! These things are unreal for any fisherman, and seeing Collins reaction to the W made it worth it. They are going to be tearing up the NH waters in some brand new bibs, a prize package worth over $600!! Congrats guys, and we’ll see you at Winni!
