“ITS THE BIGGEST FISH I’VE EVER CAUGHT IN A TOURNAMENT….” – Jason Girard before lifting this behemoth out of the Tracker livewell
Anchored by this beast of a largemouth at 6.78 lbs, it was certainly the meat of any bag for this event. For sh*ts & giggles… If that was the only fish they brought to the scales, it would’ve been better than half the fields FULL weights!! It certainly was a difficult day for most, with only 4 limits brought to the scales, but Jason Girard & Mike Teidemann continue their impressive season with ANOTHER victory + big fish at our 2nd ELITE13 stop of the year, dropping almost 18 lbs on the scales. They’ve all but locked up TOY with just 1 event remaining… The only team that can catch them is Norton & Sartorelli. Here’s the scenario:
A top 6 in our last event will guarantee Girard/Teidemann the TOY title. A 7th-13th place finish will give Norton & Sartorelli a chance to take over with a 1st or 2nd place finish. Should be a NAILBITER at Winnisquam!

Coming in 2nd place with an impressive bag weighing 13.4 lbs, but only with 4 fish, was the long time team of Mike & Kevin Doherty! 1 more fish and they might have given Girard/Teidemann a run at 1st, but again, tough day. Nicely done, enjoy your spoils gents! Here’s a photo of just 2 of their 4 bass… the other 2 were camera shy and didn’t feel like being very friendly.
Only 36 keeper bass were brought to the scales with 13 teams. Average team weight was only 6.8 lbs. A 5 lb limit would’ve put a team in 7th place in this one. Only 4 limits brought to the scales and half the field had 2 or less keeper bass. This is not the typical Ossipee, but it just goes to show you that adapting to the conditions is how tournaments are won.
Thanks to everyone for their help with the weigh-in, and I thought the mesh bag process worked out very well. We will continue that for the next event, so please do not lose those mesh bags, I will collect them after the next event!
