TIN RIG BIG BASS BASH | Weighfish
This big bass style tourney was for teams that qualified with lunkers at events last season, but also for the Elite series teams that had the highest cumulative weight of 3 biggest fish caught during the series events last year as well, which pitted 10 teams that can flat out catch big ones against each other to see who goes home with the $$$$!
It was a cold day, that included mostly rain and high winds. This kind of weather isn’t for the faint of heart, with 3 teams leaving early with no bites and a desire to NOT get pneumonia, which I do not blame them at all! I wanted to mail it in and go sit in the car for 3 hours myself… Big fish were scarce, with 2nd-4th place only separated by 0.14 lbs!
3RD PLACE
Coming in 3rd place with a smallie weighing 3.33 lbs, and going home with a brand new BROKEN TWIG FULL LENGTH LANDING NET, was the team of Scianna/Roy! Word on the street was that they caught her at 8am, then skunked for the remainder of the day, getting soaked in the process.
2ND PLACE
Coming in 2nd was the team of Nichols/Gardner, and edging out 3rd place by .06, with a nice 3.39 lb smallie. For their efforts, they go home with a couple hundo BUCKS, the perfect amount of cheddahh to go pick up a nice new BROKEN TWIG LANDING NET with a 10% promo code above. **wink wink
1ST PLACE
First place, and the TRB3 champs… Rookie sensations Ersing/Meader, from the great state of Maine, with multiple 4 lbers, but they only needed 1! Weighing in at 4.13 lbs, they take the $700 prize along with pride of being big fish CHAMPS! Rumor has it that the cheater box was essential for their victory… We are glad to have these guys in the trail this year, as they qualified for the TRB3 and the Elites through the Maine Open event last season. The trail is looking for the best of the best, and it seems like these guys are going to be tough to beat this year. Congrats, gents!
