A new series this year catering to young anglers looking for some summer competition to warm up those angling skills kicked off on Winnipesaukee this past Friday, June 27th. All anglers were greeted with a beautiful day, partially cloudy, and light winds…

This format is perfect for families and relatives, spouses, cousins, siblings, etc as we allow 3 persons to a boat as a team.
In 3rd place was this dynamic teen duo Finn & Wyatt, captained by longtime AFS angler Jason Girard. These guys came prepared to put a whoopin’ on em and had a blast doing so. For their efforts, they go home with a nice $50 gift card to our newest trail sponsor, Fish Tails Bait & Tackle in Meredith, NH. Mom and son put a hurtin’ on Dad, culling out all his keepers for bigger ones of their own. For their efforts, Carson went home with a nice $25 gift card from Fish Tails Bait & Tackle to go stock up on more gear!!! We hope to see more of this family, and it was a pleasure meeting you! Lastly, coming in 1st and taking lunker of the day at 3.62 lbs was the Dad/son team of Dad & Dylan Martin! Dylan got us started by catching 3 quick keepers in the morning, setting the tone for a great mid-morning largie bite by Dad. Dylan might be hooked now with a victory under his belt in only his 2nd ever tournament, so we need to keep the momentum going! For our efforts, we went home with some ice cream money and a whole lotta pride.
The next event is on FRIDAY JULY 25th, and we are moving it to Squam Lake!! Some anglers have expressed concern about the driving distance to the CT River, so we wanted to make it a bit more local. Let’s try to get some more boats at this next one and grow this to something all the kiddos look forward to!
